Taurettes...

A set of images taken in the very wee hours on the walk home. Got to love the number of ways they have made no effort in
arranging the words- just as long as they're on there. Quite what it has to do with the French is beyond me tho'. Perhaps they are French and are practicing their words??

Tom Selleck

Another cracker from West Calder. I never knew that Magnum P.I. was looking for work.

Where's the goalie??

Wonder why they decided to leave a wee square in the bottom of the screen there??
Suggestions welcomed...

It's never a good idea to self-publicise as there's always someone ready to criticise!

what i liked about this, is that as soon as we walked around the corner there was a fellla having a piss against the wall- blatantly flaunting the rules laid out here!

tim knows style

subway stations- especially New York are some of the best places for good old fashioned spontaneous graffitti.

a touch of foto realism...

And now for a few images from my travels. I took these this summer in the trendy Bedford Ave area of Brooklyn- proof that the obscene crosses social and cultural barriers.

livi

this one is from the summer- it's still there, on the back road to livingston shopping centre. Almost a 3-D effect

i need money...

now this one is from a wee street in Edinburgh- one of the first and still a favourite. what i like best about it is the fact that it incoroprates an advert for a chick flick and social need. think that SJP would like it?

leith walk

i have to credit someone else with this picture. it was one of those days when i had come out without a camera- typical that this piece of genius should be at the top of leith walk on a day i am camera-less. my friend took this on his camera fone. i went back the next morning but of course the police had removed it by then. this was an anti-vandalism campaign by the police, and some genius had come along and made the best possible mark of defiance they could ever ever do. i wish i could take credit for that...

the footballer

in a world of anger and misery, it's nice to see that someone has taken the time to put a smile on the public's faces. i particularly like the bright green paint on this one- contrasts great with the grey pillar. taken in west calder

gaining entry

this is one of my favourites- obviously done by a schemie lassie and laughed at with her pals over a bottle of cheap vodka. taken in west calder

tree

this is work i have been doing for ages- it celebrates the dying art of the obscene grafitti. i find modern tagging bit unimaginitive. this is the stuff i like best- free of any talent what so ever, spontaneous, crude and basic. many years ago as a student, whilst looking through a book of leaonardo da vinci's drawings, i caught sight of a set of cock and balls on one of the pages. i think it was done by one of his assistants, but i loved the fact that i could trace back this form of graffitti and give it some credence. so i am now loading up a selection of these photographs- enjoy. this first one is an example of an old way of leaving a mark- scratch it in to a tree. although this is not obscene, it's a good example of the old-school way.
